4 tips for protecting your curls at night

We all love defined and voluminous curls, don't we? Yes, but sometimes it can be hard to preserve those curls. Good news: You will not have to struggle any longer! We're dropping four tips on how to protect and preserve your curls overnight.
Hola Familia! We all love defined and voluminous curls, don't we? Yes, we do, but sometimes it can be hard to preserve those curls. Good news: You will not have to struggle any longer! We're dropping four tips on how to protect and preserve your curls overnight.

  • Tip 1: Use a silk or satin scarf
Silk and satin are the best and most gentle materials to use on your hair. They do not dry your hair out; they keep it moisturized, soft, and shiny. Though a silk or satin scarf is enough, you can use a silk or satin pillowcase for extra protection. We all know scarves can fall off, especially if you're a wild sleeper.

  • Tip 2: Refresh your hair before bed if necessary
If your curls are feeling a bit dry, try adding a hydrating cream or mist. You also want to make sure your ends are protected before wrapping your hair up. We recommend applying a small amount of length retention butter or oil on your ends. A little goes a long way, you do not need a lot.

  • Tip 3: Put your hair into a loose bun or ponytail
Tight buns and ponytails are a big no no! They can cause breakage plus they're extremely uncomfortable. Opt for loose buns and ponytails, your hair will thank you.

  • Tip 4: Pineapple your hair
For all of our lazy curlies, this one's for you. Throwing your hair into a pineapple and tying a scarf around it is the easiest method for protecting and preserving your curls. Just make sure that your hair is fully detangled before throwing it into a pineapple. Trust us when we say you do not want to wake up to tangled hair.
